Denise Benbrook

Denise is so happy to have found her theatre family with the amazing team at Ghostlight ETC. She has loved all things performance from a very young age. She started "dancing" to the Nutcracker in her grandparents living room at 4, sang and played oboe through high school, and spent time at the Lyric Opera- providing child care for actors. It was there that she really became interested in costumes and backstage preparations. This has translated into producing musicals at the elementary school where she teaches Early Childhood Diverse Learners.
Denise lives in Chicago with her husband (Jason “Papa” Benbrook), daughter (Charlie), and 2 crazy dogs (Quinn and Fergie). Her daughter has inherited her love of music and performance, so they see live shows whenever possible. Charlie performs as well- which is where Denise started assisting with costumes. She enjoys working with the actors to help them feel confident in their character.
