Justin Monarrez

Justin is beyond excited to be back home with his Ghostlight team, whom he has worked with for 7 years. He recently graduated from Illinois State University in the Class of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Design and Technology with a focus in Stage Management. Since graduating, Justin has returned home to work for LEC: Event Technology, based right here in Downers Grove, where he helps prep lighting, video, and special effect equipment for concerts and festivals all across the country. He has always had a passion for mentoring young theatre technicians and has found a home here at Ghostlight getting to work with the students and teach them some fun things about technical theatre. He wants to thank the whole Ghostlight team, but most importantly Miss Colleen, for trusting him even when he has one of his crazy ideas in mind!

Lastly, he wants to dedicate every single performance to Colleen Tovar, his mentor at ISU, who unfortunately lost her battle to cancer in November of 2022. He would not be half the theatre artist he is today without the skills and lessons she taught him.
